“What I learned In This Class”

In this class I learned how to actually be a writer. It wasn’t easy because Mr.Weiler always had us working, and writing. We really didn’t have any speare time in this class that’s when I started to use my time manging skills because Mr.Weiler had so much work for us to do we really didn’t have any other choice, but to learn time mangement, and working at your on paste to get your work in on time. I also learned How to deal with things I never dealt with before in my life. It was hard to me in this class because I never written so much in my life untill this class, and I learned how to adapt to new things like I will have to do when I get out in the world on my own. I learned how to associate with others to get my work done and not just try to do everything on my own. I finally realized that you can’t do everything on your own, you going to need somebody to do something for you no matter if it’s ironing your clothes, brushing your teeth for you or asking someone to do a recomendation for you to get into a school and get a decent job.

“Thinking Through Feedback”

Well I think my sister Jasmine Spearman feedback was the best because she knows me and if it has something to do with my work she’s not going to lie to me and tell me that my work is good when it’s really not.I like her feedback because she tells me whats wrong and give me away to fix my mistakes. I think what I really have to improve on is my language when I write because, when I write I write how I talk and that’s not good because I talk with alot of slang, but don’t really notice it. going through my feedback I also like sharis feedback, because she gives me bright ideas also. I choose these two because with they feedback I can create a perfect piece of work. I find my piece of work to have many errors, but with they feedback I know I can fix them and have a more then perfect finale draft. Sharis is a good writer and I apperciate all the judgement that her an my sister gives me. It might not be alot of help, but it’s enough help to get me through my writing procces phase. I was pretty stressed out when I heard that we had to get three people to go over our work, because I know I’m not the best writer, but I learned that with the feedback I can become a better writer. My sister said that I should make my paper more exciting and try to use better vocabulary, and I should also fix the grammar and punuation errors in my pape ,but one thing that really stood out to me was when she said I should try to switch it up a little bit, instead of the man’s point of view through out the whole story I should have a narrator, or the woman to talk some.

Proposal

I choose this particular task because with a short story you can express your theme in anyway you want to, and I had a theme that I wanted to protray in my paper so I picked a short story also because I felt that it would do the job. In this short story I’m going to talk about love and happiness. I know it sounds like a song, and it is. That’s where I got the idea from, and some of the themes I’m using in my paper is money doesn’t bring happiness, love do and the other one is love don’t cost a thing. I actually got that idea from a movie called “Love Don’t Cost a Thing”. That was about a girl who ravages her mothers truck and an unpopular boy pays to get it fix for she can pretend to be his girlfriend to make him popular for a while. This short story task is a good way to get this theme out and to tell a good story about real life problems. I just found the short story assignment better for me than the other four. Which is to write a 1-act play, write a movie script(something I couldn’t do because it’s already a movie and that wouldn’t have made any sense). I also plan to get a real point across in my story. I will teach a lesson to all the people who think money is all they need to make their life better and to make them happy. I will teach my readers that it’s not money that makes you happy, it’s really love. After you read this story you would wan’t to make this a novel or a movie. This is a very intresting topic and that’s why I choose it to write my short story on.

My Power Word

Sapient- means wise or attempting to appear wise. The reason why I choose the word to describe me is because it means wise and I think i’m a pretty wise person. I think I take in all the information that I need to know and I run with it and to me that means and shows a sapient person. Sapient isn’t just being wise it’s also attempting to appear wise. I’m not the second one because I’m the first one. I don’t attempt to appear wise othere people do that. This word is important because wise people get alot of attention. I find the dictionary defenition to be to simple for me it should be longer because this is a strong and powerful word. Sapient might mean wise, but I think I mean sapient. I can sit here and list all the ways I think or better yet know why I’m sapient, but I don’t think I am. Sapient is a word that many people that are in my life could be defined as such as my mother and father, big sister and auntie, chris and my uncle lenarde. They are all good examples of sapient as well as me and many other people.

“If I could Write A best-Seller…”

If I could write a book and it would be a best seller, it would be a non- fiction book about my life, because I think my life would have everybody going to buy my books. My book would talk about the problems I been through, my family and how they treat me, my friends who’s fake and who’s real, my boyfriends who I loved or just like, it will talk about my success and how i got there. My best seller will make you want to keep reading and never stop, it will make you want to tell me to write a second book. I feel that my book could be number one in the world not only the united states. It would be titled.. The things that happened that changed my life or the events of Jennifer Spearman. My life could help someone else manage their life by what I went through. Telling someone my life story might be hard because some of thye things I been through, but I would love to tell it because I dont mine helping other people change their life or turn it around. It would start off by saying my name is Jennifer Spearman and this is my life story.

My Fairy Tale…. A Happy Ending?

My paper started off easy to write, but as I went on with my paper it started to get more and more difficult to think, and pull all my ideas for my paper together. Fairy tales are not really my type of writting, but I pulled it all together and got a good paper.

I’m very confident in my work, because I had my friend Monti to correct all my grammer errors and help me with the beginning of my paper. It needed a little work because it started off boring. I think she is a great writer and im glad she helped me.

My ending could’ ve been better, and my monster could’ve been scarier, but thats not really the moral of my story. My story is a lifes lesson, that you can use. My fairy tale is probably not like no other, but I like it, it’s something I can look at and be proud of.

My Fairy Tale

So far my fairy tale has been going okay. The reason I say it’s going okay is because it started off good, but i feel like it’s going down hill. I’m trying now to make a little changes to it so it will sound better. When I did my brainstorming all the pieces fitted together, but now it seems as if I didn’t even do my brainstorming activities. I’m hoping now that it will turn out to be a good story in the end.

After 2 weeks i feel like my writing has gotten better, but not alot it change in a way that only I can understand and maybe somebody that reads my work often. This class has brought me to a side that I never thought i had. I never felt so free to talk about my problems and my everyday life, until I got in Creative Writing class. Even though the class not based on everyday things like from A-Z I think it’s one of the best class i have been inrolled in since i started North Lawndale College Prep. To me I didn’t really write as good as I wanted to, but in the last couple of weeks I’ve learned how to gather what ever I want to write about, write it down and there I go on my way to a great paper. This class has also help me write better in my Honors American Lit. class. We write weekly reflections in there and i use to have alot of trouble, but since i started this class I haven’t lately.

Am I A Writer?

I wouldn’t fully consider myself a writer because I don’t it all the time, but as I write on my spare time I see myself getting to like it more. I see myself getting to like it more and more. I like to write about everything from school to my personal life at home. I sometimes like writing songs that are going through rough times, and also poems about love and pain. I could say writing is something I like to do, but I dont have any writing goals. “writing takes you to a different place then earth”
